Thought patterns that bring you down can change your life, and not for good. When it comes to mental health, “thoughts” are so powerful in everything we do; how we feel, think, and our relationship with ourselves and others.

Our thoughts and our perceptions are a big deal. And an interesting thing about our brain is that on average we have about 60,000 thoughts per day. 80% are negative in nature 95% are repetitive thoughts. It means that we spend most of our time repeating and practicing the same negative thoughts we had yesterday. And that without even pausing to question them. So we need to realize, it’s ok to question your thoughts, especially if they tend to be more negative, pessimistic, or cynical in nature.

Thought patterns that bring you down; Cognitive distortions.

Have you ever heard the saying “you are what you think or the way you think creates the way you feel” So think about that…if we have more thinking patterns that aren’t healthy, then it’s going to create some feelings or moods that don’t feel so good. So there is a name for thought patterns like this, that I want to discuss with you guys on today’s show. It’s called Cognitive distortions…
