Suicide Prevention and Awareness (PART 2) | MFM 103 RADIO SHOW WSIC 105.9FM #79

More than 700 000 people die by suicide every year, which is one person every 40 seconds. Death by suicide is a global crisis that we all need to talk about and address.

If you missed part 1 go back to tracyalston.com and tune in there or download the mental fitness Matters Part 1 we focused on the risk factors, warning signs, and how our brain plays a big role in our thought process and decision making.

Part 2 focuses on what can we do to remove the stigma and open the conversation around mental health and stop suicide: Suicide rates are going up which means more and more people are struggling and suffering in silence.

We still have a long ways to go but I am glad that I am hearing the word mental health, self-care, stress, depression, and anxiety because that means people are talking more about it which hopefully means more focus on solutions will follow.

With athletes and celebrities opening up more, saying no and setting boundaries, and Partnering with mental health companies are this helps push the conversations forward and brings forth resources to get better access and quality care.
