The Benefits of Expressing Emotions | MFM 53 RADIO SHOW WSIC 105.9FM #31

With all the things that are going on, emotions for everyone can be all over the place. We need to have a conversation and dialogue

Emotions are a healthy and natural part of being human, it’s part of who we are. We are born to feel a spectrum of core emotions such as anger, fear, joy, sadness, excitement, and disgust.

Unfortunately, over the years and depending on your life experiences and upbringing, emotions have gotten a bad rap. It’s not okay to be emotional, it’s not ok to talk about how you feel. People believe emotions mean your weak, emotions need to be pushed down, we label people emotional or sensitive, and make it a negative connotation instead of acknowledging and celebrating that’s something within all of us.

Whatever the things you were told or modeled about emotions growing up, could be having an impact on how you handle your emotions and the benefits of doing it.
