Five Senses to Manage Stress

Five Senses to Manage Stress | MFM 101 RADIO SHOW WSIC 105.9FM #77

Ways to use your 5 senses as a tool for grounding you so that you can better manage your stress and bring you back into the present moment and also for Peak Performance. By engaging in sensory awareness training you can straighten your intuition and improve your mental performance.

First, let’s just talk about why having ways to soothe yourself and manage your stress is even important.

Sensory Overload

As we all know, most people live their lives in a constant state of stress and never shutting off. Have you ever been watching tv, or scrolling through social media, or checking your emails and felt overwhelmed and just had to shut everything off, where that’s a form of sensory overload in a way that’s not so helpful for you?

Having a way to manage that stress and balance your emotions is always a good idea. We are taking things in all day long through our senses, so if the things we are consuming via sight, smell, taste, touch, hearing are causing us more stress than calm, we have to identify ways to balance that out, which in turn will help you manage your stress levels. So BECOMING MORE AWARE and IN TUNE with OUR SENSES MATTERS, not only in times of stress but just in moments of appreciation, which can have an instant impact on your mood and overall state of being.
